The 2017 Visiting Professor in Injury Prevention
Dr. Brent Hagel is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Paediatrics and Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. He is the Department of Paediatrics Lead for Research Capacity Development and the Section Head of the Research Methods Team. He is a member of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute, the O’Brien Institute for Public Health and the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre at the University of Calgary. Brent focuses his research and prevention efforts on sport and recreational injuries, primarily the evaluation of protective equipment effectiveness and policies related to child and adolescent injury prevention.
